Description

The purpose of this session is to review Nike's Journey to better SAP Cost Accounting. After attending the Controlling conference in 2018, we expedited our journey from an immature SAP Costing Model to a more robust SAP model leveraging new ventures. This session will review the journey including impacts and learnings.

Design and Implementation of Intercompany Subcontracting at Lilly

Description

I will review the processes, developments, and program modification focusing on the costing and accounting areas. 

  • Overview of subcontracting arrangement
  • Accounting Flow, including original sale of material on-hand
  • Use of CO Production Orders at Toller
  • Local Valuation Costing (including program modifications for Manufacturing Sites)
  • Group Valuation Costing (including program modifications)
  • Production Variance Simulation Report at Manufacturing Site
  • Calculation of Mixed Price Variance at Toller, required due to a SAP Limitation
  • Inventory Reconciliation and Adjustment Process between the toller and manufacturing site

Ross Christoph

Ross Christoph is primarily responsible for the processes and solutions for Product Costing at Eli Lilly and Company on a global basis. Eli Lilly has manufacturing plants located in 13 countries and products marketed in 125 countries. Ross has been with Eli Lilly since 1999 and participated in the implementations of the SAP for product costing and other CO module functionality in many plants and countries around the world. Previously Ross has worked at other manufacturing companies focusing on internal accounting and financial roles since 1979 until becoming involved with SAP projects beginning in 1992. Ross has been a Certified Management Accountant since 1981.
