Financial Entries in Make-to-Stock Manufacturing - SAP S/4HANA

Product costing (CO-PC) within SAP S/4HANA Finance highlights the integrated nature of the SAP ERP environment by bringing together information from many different application areas including Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), cost accounting (CO), and the General Ledger (FI). Using a make-to-stock (MTS) manufacturing scenario as an example, discover how each step in a manufacturing process is reflected in both the SAP General Ledger and for each controlling object. Learn how the month-end process facilitates the reconciliation between financial and management accounting, to ensure compliance with legal requirements for inventory valuation.

We will cover:

  • The controlling objects that are used for a make-to-stock manufacturing process, including sales order items, production orders, and cost-based Profitability Analysis CO-PA.
  • Accounting entries made automatically throughout the period for a make-to-order scenario.
  • How the period-end processes ensure legal compliance with additional accounting postings.
  • Technical differences in CO-PC due to the Universal Journal in SAP S/4HANA Finance.

Leave this session with a good understanding of the changes in CO-PC with SAP S/4HANA Finance.
